Head of Programme
Executive Masters in Islamic Finance (eMIF)
Assoc Prof Dr Ziyaad Mahomed is a prominent Shariah Advisor, serving on over 12 Islamic finance boards globally. He chairs the HSBC Amanah Shariah Board in Malaysia and plays a key role in shaping Shariah-compliant financial practices.
He specialises in Takaful and Islamic banking, with consultancy work across Africa, Asia, and Europe. As a Senior Consultant to the World Bank, he supports the development of Islamic finance in Africa and Southeast Asia.
At INCEIF, Dr. Ziyaad leads research in Islamic Social Finance, having founded the Social Finance unit in 2017. He also oversees digital programmes, including micro-certifications and the university’s new fully online Master’s degree.

MSc in Islamic Finance
Dr. Hengchao Zhang earned his PhD in Islamic Banking and Finance from IIiBF, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), with sponsorship from IRTI, Islamic Development Bank. He subsequently joined IIUM as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics in June 2021.
Currently, Dr. Zhang serves as the Head of Programme for the MSc in Islamic Finance at INCEIF. He is also the Co-Editor of the International Journal of Islamic Finance and Sustainable Development. His research interests include Financial Economics, Financial Technologies, Sustainable Economic Development, and the Islamic Capital Market. He has published extensively in top academic journals, such as European Journal of Finance, Institutions & Money, Journal of Islamic Accounting and Business, Journal of Asia-Pacific Business, and Journal of Economic Cooperation and Development

Head of Programme Masters in Islamic Finance Practice (MIFP)
Prof. Dr. Syed Abdul Hamid Aljunid lectures in Ethics and Governance at INCEIF. His area of research includes economic thoughts, ethics and economics, business ethics and corporate governance. He conducts research and training of trainers’ programmes on ethics and governance.
He is a member of professional and government funded autonomous organisations in Malaysia, and advices on ethics and governance issues. He has been a member of the panel of experts for The Malaysian Institute of Integrity (MII), since 2012.

Dr. Ismail Nizam, an associate professor at INCEIF University, earned his PhD in Business Administration, MSc in Finance, and BA in Business Administration from the International Islamic University Malaysia.
He holds certifications such as Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor from AAOIFI, Bahrain, and Certified Train-the-Trainer Exemption from HRD Corporation, Malaysia. His expertise encompasses business strategy, strategic sustainability, digital strategies and maqasid al shariah based measurements.
Dr. Ismail Nizam has extensive experience in training and consulting across diverse industries, and has held significant positions, including Head of Business School at Universiti Malaya-Wales. He chairs and serves on shariah advisory councils in the Maldives and is a member of international professional bodies.
